There is also another theory that says this being US election year , this time they will manage the crisis better and nothign dangerous will be allowed to happen .
However I doubt that , since there has been management of problems going on at diff level since last 3 years there is not room left .
Any further Aid/rescue/QE/Data manipulation will lead to infation and job losses to such levels that it itself will become a problem .
What people fail to realize is there is a human limit on speed of change !

The post was actually to detail how hopless thigs can get and are getting . The data points at an entire generation loosing out of good lifestyle . Spain or Italy unemployment will have following long term impact on India .
Social unrest in these countires , leading to Govt change or riots .
Increased anger over globalization (which includes outsourcing ).
As these countries adjust to bad economics , labour there gets cheaper , leaving long term impact on India .
In short term suchs news can be used to cause any bailout or bank failure .So i am not speculating for it .
My intent of putting that data was diff .
One was to show how self assured economic arrogance can hurt an economy , so the data from spain /US servs as timely notice to Indians as a whole .
Second , the standard of living in G8 type western countries wil decline . While it will result it geopolitical rearragnemnt , it also implies that the era of picking low hanging fruits of globalization will be over for next 5-8 years . Since India/China have huge poverty = low cost production and other economic realities its not that they are doomed but they need to now work real hard and product real value stuff to earn similar level of export revenue . This is both a threat and opportuinity for developing countries to rise , depending on how they respond to it .
Since india is doing its own set of mistakes and loosing out on opportunities it will be intresting to watch how these 2 factors work together .
In short medium term (6 -18 months) , following might happen .
Rupee swings wildly ( along with gold ).
RBI might opely resort to QE .
Some dumb/risky moves on subsidies/social spending which might lead to instability at center .
Exporter and companies might suddely discover that their parent/partner/thrid party has gone missing .
All companies relying on pure play cost advantage export will report delcine in revenue ( includes IT ).
Some surprises in Overseas acqusitions by Indian comapanies .
Europe might officaly name US cartel for attack on Euro .
Erupeans being europeans will work on new treaties for EU/Europe .
China will exposed of its gloabl financial ambitions.
Swiss/UK banks going bust due to general levelrage and bonds debacle .
Job losses , job losses and more job losses .
Stock market crashes .

Lemme inform U NadhiSR that this NiCCO CORP is one of the disaster stocks in my PF.... It was at Rs.50 plus & look whr it is NOW..... a penny stk. :(
BTW lemme also add we shudnt depend on the govt. to bail us out in such a power-cable-sector stocks.... I have extracted a lot of information about the promoters of this unfortanate NiCCO GROUP companies.... They are known to play in their own stks for ST / LT gains.
So thats the reason for the stk to be in such a dilapidated condition.

Dear nellik,
The increase in inventory for a year is not a bad sign. It should not be on the increasing trend continuously for at least a few years. The company may have good orders, which holds in this case, and may be increasing the stock of raw meterials or even finished goods which are to be dispatched soon. But many companies use inventory to fool the investors. That has a lot of space to hide or manipulate the facts. More over this management is not reputed for transparency, the fact revealed by the increasing number of complaints. As long as the order book is good, increase in inventory is not an issue at all, unless or otherwise the stock consists of manufactured goods returned due to bad quality.
The fact that in spite of the increasing inventory the company had good top and bottom line simply shows that everything is good, of course as per as the published financial statement.

While merit should be be only criteria for choosing people`s representative even at the lowest levels, why should it be different for choosing the president of a country? I cannot escape the feeling that the question is preposterous. Sorry sir....

Dear Pranky,
So many companies are doing this dirty thing of trading their own stock. Be satisfied on two counts, one that you are not the only one to have such a stock in your portfolio and two that you have only one such stock in your Portfolio.
The market is directionless for so long. There are so many stocks which are performing good, at least based on what their financial statements and managers say, but priced very low.
The retailers, it seems, are playing for very low margins. The only winners are the brokerages and the treasury.
The market will continue to do so till Gold is dumped. But nobody knows when it will happen. More over the EUROPE issue is being revisited again by the "analysts". May be, they feel that they played gold for too long. All in all, no hope for any improvement in the valuation of mid cap stocks.

Whether it is gold or stocks, people buy only when the prices are higher. By the way why people buy gold and platinum during AKSHAYA TRITIYA. What it has to do with Gold? It just shows how much superstition prevails and how easily people can be cheated....

Dear Pranky
Sorry for my delayed response. The business is good. But I see nothing positive as far as the financial statements are concerned. Of course we see only what we are expected to see in there. It had become more of a statutory obligation than revealing anything about the
real position of the company. But then there are some figures which cannot be "wholly untrue". I am considering only those figures
The debt burden is on the high side comparing an annual turn over of around 300 crores. The top line is also on the decreasing trend. The expenses are on lower side in the last 2 quarters but that can be due to the reducing inventory which can be verified only in the
annual statement.
The book value is negative. Look at the SHP. Corporates are holding twice of what the promoters hold. It is altogether a different issue as to who are these corporates are. Promoters in purdha? It will be good if they are. If not, there are 3 options. Be ready for the government to wake up and do something to improve the badly needed power sector( which can only be imagined ) or for an euphoria to set in ( which is not visible in the near future ) or for a loooooooong wait.
In short, this is one of the many stocks where we are left with no option but to go on our wings and prayers. I don`t hold this one but I have my own fish to fry.:)))))
