yes for some time even the futures were not working! i think its some server problems! i had traded in bank nifty, and thank god it stopped, otherwise would have lost even more! no idea about stocks! ...

Agree. I never worried about at what level to enter. But curios to know or learn on how these experts compute the fair value from PE, EPS and projected reveune forecasts....

In fact some of my friends had a wry smile ON as they said that the entire RED CANDLE on LUPIN`s gap-up today was perhaps FILLED by CLSA and then PUMPED UP too by them ! An act involving 12K cash shares. If trues CLSA and its clients must be a pretty happy bunch today. Watch out folks ... today`s RED CANDLE action can`t be ignored ... even the most minor news will see sparks flying towards a new(er) lifetime high !!!...

Why ? Why do you think Reliance or Bank ?? Aren`t there any better stocks to park you money ???...

Right, very right indeed. Please note the following viewpoint also :

1. In case you hold a good quantity of cash equity in any counter, and in case that counter is represented in FnO section, it turns out to be prudent to SELL a FUTURE lot at the level where you would like to book profit.

2. In case your sold FUTURE goes for a toss, you only NOTIONALLY pay the MARGIN loss from your pocket, but that loss is actually made up for by the gain in your cash holding ... so your profit-gain in your cash equity remains locked.

3. In case your cash holding rallies substantially, you can buy back your initial shorted FUTURE, and short another FUTURE at a much higher level. A fall, more likely from higher levels, will yield you better quantum of gain than what a lowly-placed short would have done.

4. Whenever you want to exit, you can just neutralize all your positions, or, else, you can repeatedly keep booking profit on your SHORT side during this bidirectional play ... thus bringing the acquisition cost of your holdings lower, much lower !

5. In a counter where OPTIONS are active, it also makes sense to sell COVERED OTM CALLS during the period of brilliant rallies ! This can be done almost as frequently as the counter fluctuates during a month. Obviously you must know the details of selling COVERED FUTURES & COVERED CALLS for such scenarios. In fact such bidrectional trade often gives beautiful yield ... keeping you fully hedged ALWAYS.

What I say above is not only theoretical, but plays out beautifully during bear market rallies. The only thing is that one has to be patient, and play to a plan, rather than withdrawing from the market altogether with whatever profits one has earned...
