UM: Welcome back. I managed to sense the direction right and closed all my shorts y`day (you can see my previous posts). When the market changes direction, not all heavyweight stocks join the frenzy on day 1. E.g. JP is still a short while Larsen is a buy. After a while most of them join the party. So be very vigilant on individual stocks in next few days. -KK P.S. Having heat rash all over my upper body including scalp. there seem to be no news or cues driving the markets. When the US markets were huge up, we were down for no reason, when dow made a pull back to just close in green, here we are thundering today. And statistics do not show, this one is believable. As on the crude front, who ever analyst papers I went through in the past week or so, everyone got just one thing to say, supply overrieds demand in the medium term. And if Greece gets the what they want(freedom - the public sense is so, they were made scapegoat by EU), there is no trigger, INR dollar is a mystery. there is no reason why we should be languishing here at 56 odd levels. The only knife being OIL imports, with no pink slips around here (including china, the worst seem to be slowly coming up), and that too at a time OIL has nothing but a journey towards south ( and read our improving petroleum exports more than 1/3 of our imports). looking six months from now, here is the platform to buy. on TA, it is the same thing i might need to repeat what i posted to Sanjay with a good morning today. regards, and welcome back sir....

Actually there were no cues driving the markets downwards either except for European fears. And those fears show no sign of abating. Once that is resolved I am pretty sure we are going to see a bullish phase, if not a bull market. Greece is a cancer on Europe. Twelve years ago they lied in a big way to get into Eurozone. Then they continued cooking their books for ten years. Now they are trying to blackmail Europe--"You can`t survive without us."

Tsipras is as naiive as Didi Kolkota. European leaders have already called his bluff. The only option for Greeks is to think quietly for the next few weeks and see if they can vote a sensible person with experience and realism as prime minister.

If that happens, then we will find a great rally in the market. If that does not happen, Greece will be eased out with a severance pay of 50 billion euros and that will be it. Markets will move on.

I think the key is resolution of this fear as an emotion, as reflected in the unrealistic price of German Bund....

We need to compare yesterday`s figures with today`s. What do you see unusual here? ...

No it was not staged. These things happen automatically. The world marketplace is so incredibly enmeshed together that if one moves the others adjust almost immediately.

Why I am cautious about continuance of this rally tomorrow:

1. Average volumes
2. FIIs net sellers in cash, which means probably the buyers were short term funds trading in futures and options.
3. Fear factor in Europe still solidified. Bund made another all time high today, though it did correct a bit.
4. Today`s rally was almost 2%. This sort of rally with low volumes, especially if not supported strongly by world markets, is difficult to continue the very next day.

I am still holding the long futures I entered into today morning. If the situation is bearish everywhere, I shall cut them in the morning itself rather than "hoping" for something to come by to rescue us....

Here everything is as green as can be. We are getting sporadic rains and the sky is mostly overcast.

When the monsoon finally hits things change completely. Only in the Himalayas have I experienced such intense rains as we get in Kerala. In the first tranche (from June 1) it normally rains for days together. Then there is a respite for two or three days and again rains. If there is no rain for one week at a stretch in June Met department start getting worried. The wettest month is July. "Karkatakom" month. Then you can have a full week of incessant rains. When that happens clothes won`t dry, matches won`t burn. You take anything and it feels damp. That is also the no-fishing season. That changes, August comes. Harvest season, Onam etc.

A couple of good things about the June July rainfall is that strong winds are rare. Last time we had strong winds was in 2006. Last year it was very quiet throughout. In addition there won`t be any thunder or lightning. That occurs only in Oct Nov rains because the rain bearing clouds come from Tamil Nadu. Maybe there is some language issue between the clouds that originate in the West and those coming from the East. ...
