Agreed. But what about the deficit which government is so acutely faced and hard - put ? Yes, some methodology has to be found but simply doing away with taxes on all commodities outrightly will not do. It nation has to survive, its citizenary has to undergo the tax regimen. Moral fiber wise, both the nations, having sprung from the same seed and got separated (indeed a sad saga which keeps haunting us than ever before) maintains, almost, the same standard. I shall look for the heaven in that nation more for reasons of cheap petrol. Yes, of course, there being similarities on account of language, food habits and to some account culture too, it shall be an added advantage, I firmly believe. Unlike a state, managing a nation at the state level is much more difficult and thus it needs a good statesman who is accepted by such by the majority of people. Since Modi has confined himself to affairs of state alone till now, he needs to expose himself as such. Moreover, somehow, people are critical that he he is not as secular as he claims himself to be. I think, persons such as Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley who have been in the limelight and are much more forward looking, should be afforded a fair chance to aptly handle the lingering national issues. But, then, it is for the BJP, within its folds, to come up with a mutually acceptable contestant for the post of PM. Let it be either Sushma Swaraj or Arun Jaitley. Besides prominent figures in national politics for too long besides Ministers as well, they can steal the show and prove their mite on a positive note.
