do we require sebi? after the harshad mehta scam the sebi was put in place for regulation and importantly to protect small investors but even after so many years the watchdog is not competent enough or just like another regulating body.fee examples are as under :-
delisting of essar steel ( essar gujarat shares ) ----- agreed the promoters complied with the delisting parameters prevelant but what the sebi failed to take into account the no of outstanding shares with the retail investors who set thru the difficult times and when the tide turned around the savvy promoters got it delisted at throw away price. also it failed to inspect & verify for retail investors benefit essar`s books how it diverted funds from its flagship to start its other businesses - oil , gas , telecom,etc
kyc norms --- while we have numerous identities it started its on kyc norms which should not have been the case as a single window should have been made applicable everywhere- IT , bank , share markets ,mutual funds,etc
vanishing companies ---- numerous companies which have raised funds via ipo have got delisted under some pretext and till date thousand of crs of rupees have been held up which can boost capital markets if sebi takes corrective steps
companies siphoning funds ---- several promoters of the company have raised gdrs , transferred funds via takeover of shell companies and in the end turned their listed indian entity to zero but no action taken agst such fraud promoters . what is the sebi doing
the investor protection cell started by sebi for receiving complaints merely acknowledges the retail investors complaint by shelling out the related number but there have never being an instance where probe has been intiated and action taken if wrongdoings found to be true.
THEN WHY DO WE REQUIRE AN INEFFECIENT SEBI JUST FOR NAMESAKE??...
is this a right time to sell physical gold or i hold it...
what chances to have gain in physical gold in future or this is the right time to sell it...
